Even though embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This match provided a platform for some of Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were outmatched against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were further weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.
Dominance Established from the Outset
Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward tap-in.
Youngster Adam Wharton went close minutes later, fizzing a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the official waved away the appeals.
The formerArsenal man didn't need to wait long to get his goal, tapping home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
The home side were clinging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
