Close to 25,000 Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after powerful weather events swept through the state, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Utility workers were working to restore energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to handle the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city experienced its wettest day in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, primarily for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - various rescue reports
- Wyndham - over 175 calls for assistance
At one point on Sunday, over 28,000 power users in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the area.
